Hmmmm....what to choose at Be-a-Bella ?

It's a lot of fun to watch people choosing candy from our display. Sometimes they smile and sometimes they laugh. Sometimes they buy a sentimental favourite and sometimes they just like to be adventurous and try something new.

If the person likes black liquorice we often suggest an Aniseed Balls. These are a staple in British sweet shops. These small, hard, brown, shiny balls are like a jawbreaker or what some call gobstoppers.

Aniseed is native to the eastern Mediterranean.  It has a very distinctive liquorice flavour and has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries and has been used as a digestive aid.

If you like Ouzo, you will love Aniseed Balls. So try if you want to be a bit adventurous...give them a try.

To the Butterdome and Beyond!

Well it has been a lot of work and a lot of fun. The new Be-a-Bella Gift shop at 6510 - 112 ave,  is set to open Saturday May 10.   I have to say it is far more difficult to select products for the shop than I ever realised. I just couldn't bring in anything. I had to bring in things I loved and believed in or I just could not sell them. Come and visit me at the Butterdome show and pick up your $5 off coupon for the shop!

I am also excited to be attending the Spring Butterdome, which runs May 2 - 4. It's a wonderful show, full of very talented artisans, it's an honour to be selected to show my work with them. I will have some new items at the show including my Spring Dispensers and my new Be-a-Bella bag.  Come by and say Hi!

Packing Up

It's always crazy around our house when we are getting ready for a show. Everyone tries to help. This is Maya in one of my packing boxes. She is NOT helpful, but she does make me laugh!

I can't wait for Art Market in Calgary next weekend. Then we are off to Make It in Edmonton back to Calgary the week after for Festival of Crafts and finally the largest of the shows the Butterdome back here in Edmonton.

Kathy Prosser at Art Market

I have been thinking about Christmas. I have actually been thinking about it since March, which is when I start preparing for the winter shows.

My first show is at Art Market in Calgary. If you have never attended this show, you must treat yourself and come down. It has some of the most spectacular work. I have a number of $2 off coupons and a handful of free passes! Let me know if you would like some.

Christmas in June!

It may be the first day of summer, but we were so thrilled to find out that we have been accepted to exhibit at the Make It Edmonton Christmas show. It will be held at the Enjoy Centre in St. Albert and runs from Thursday November 21 thru to Sunday November 24 2013.

Spring in My Studio.

It is snowing outside...but it is spring in my Studio! I have finally finished my first four botanical paintings and am off to the printers to get my artwork scanned and printed for the upcoming Spring Butterdome Show on May 5-8 and the Spring Festival of Crafts May 10-12! It has definitely been a labour of love
